Should I start my home study now?

If you are considering beginning your adoption journey, you may be wondering like many families, if you should still proceed with your application and home study. In fact, as people are staying home to flatten the curve, there is no time like the present to begin working on building your family. This may be the perfect time to embark on an adoption plan as you have more time available to focus on your adoption process.

The beginning phase of the home study process consists of document gathering, filling out forms and completing online training… all of which can be done from your home. After you have completed your paperwork and training you will meet your social worker. For meeting your social worker, most states will either allow for the use of technology or a face to face meeting while still adhering to social distancing.

We offer home study services for families living in all nine states in which we are licensed. These states include Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Florida and Texas. We also offer home study services even if you are not using one of our domestic or international adoption programs for your adoption.

With so much uncertainty right now, one thing that has not changed is the need for loving, permanent families for children.
