DOMESTIC POST PLACEMENT & FINALIZATION SERVICES
DOMESTIC POST PLACEMENT & FINALIZATION
Coming home with your child is an exciting time!
There are just a few more steps of the process once you are home, the first being post-placement visits and reports!
Alliance for Children will provide you with the post-placement requirements for your adoption in accordance with the laws of your state. Your social worker will visit with you and your child, answering any questions you may have about adoption or parenting. We want to make sure that both the parents and child are doing well and getting the support and services that may be needed. Our social work staff is always available to answer any questions you may have at any time after your child comes home! After your social worker visits, the post placement reports are then written and shared with you, your placement agency or attorney if you adopted with an outside agency, and are often needed for finalization.
Finalization is the last piece of the adoption process, and you will work directly with an adoption attorney in your area for this final step! Once your adoption is finalized, the court will issue a decree of adoption. You will receive an amended birth certificate, and your relationship as parent and child is permanently and legally established. With this, your adoption journey is complete and you are a forever family!
We will be forever grateful to the Alliance For Children for bringing us our baby. Thank you to Ruthie and team for delivering our baby from Colombia.
