Hello!

My name is Kelly and it is so nice to meet you. I want to start off by saying thank you for getting to know me through these pages. But most importantly, thank you for considering such a selfless decision for your baby. No matter who you choose, I know this is a decision you are making with love. I admire your strength and courage and you have my complete support and respect. I hope we can have the chance to get to know each other - I am always happy to answer any questions you have about me.

Much Love,
Kelly

My Adoption Story

My biggest goal in life is to become a mom. My heart is so full of love to give and I hope that as you look through my book you can see how much your child will be loved by me and also by my family. I also hope that this book lets you picture the beautiful life that I promise to give them. Like you, I want the very best for your baby. They would be my blessing, my pride and joy and my number one priority in life. Your baby will always be loved unconditionally. I respect your decision and look forward to taking this journey with you.

Starting this journey to become a mother has been an exciting and special time in my life. I have always wanted to have children, but a cancer diagnosis and hysterectomy at 33 years old left me unable to have biological children.

My Promise to You

Your child will be raised by me in a safe, loving, happy and nurturing home with tons of love and support from my close knit family and friends. They will be raised to be a happy, loving, kind, respectful, educated and successful person. I am ready, willing and capable of providing everything and every opportunity. I will encourage them to learn and explore and reach their goals. I will embrace their history and culture. I look forward to sharing my life with them and continuing traditions and starting new ones of our own!

My promise to you is that your baby will be loved with my whole heart and they will always be safe and secure. It would be my life's honor should you choose me to raise your child.

While at first it was hard to accept, I soon realized that I would still be a mom and that I would eventually begin the beautiful process of adoption and that it would be even more special. I am now completely healthy and cancer free and ready to devote my life to being a mom.

About Me

I live on Long Island in New York. I recently bought a house in the same town that I was born and raised in. I grew up in a loving home with my parents and three younger brothers. My father was a computer programmer and my mom worked with adults with developmental disabilities. One of my brothers works for a gas utility company, one is an adaptive physical education teacher and one is a police officer. When we were kids, we played games, went bike riding, went to the beach, out on our boat, fishing, swimming and watching baseball. We would take yearly family vacations and go camping every summer. It was always important that we got good grades in school and helped out around the house. I also played lacrosse, track and field and volleyball in school.

I have a Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from New York Institute of Technology. For the last 15 years I have worked with elderly people in a short term rehabilitation and long term care facility working toward improving their abilities and reaching their highest potential. I work only a few minutes away from home and have flexibility with my schedule which will be great for when I become a mom!

I would describe myself as very determined and independent. I am dedicated and loyal, kind and loving, adaptable, dependable and organized. I have a calm and collected way and am usually the quiet person in the group as I can be shy at times. I have a good sense of humor and I am a child at heart.

After work I like to come home and finish up any work around the house that needs to be done, call my family, text friends, read, work on my continuing education classes, listen to music, exercise, watch TV, social media and play games on my phone. I am a bit of a homebody and enjoy being low key.

I look forward to the weekends and spending time with my family and friends. My family and I will usually spend time together at each others houses. We are just happy to spend time with each other whether its hanging out for the day in the house, shopping, going to the movies, cooking meals, spending time outdoors, going to the zoo or parks and trying new activities with my niece and nephew.

Although I prefer to spend most of my time with family, I also like to meet up with a few close friends for dinner and trying different activities such as painting and ceramics, yoga, bowling and escape rooms.

My favorite season is the summer. I love the warm weather and sunshine. My favorite thing to do in the summer is go to the beach. I live less than 10 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. I enjoy swimming, attempting to surf, stand up paddle boarding and going out for a ride on the family boat, fishing and having family and friends over for BBQs. We try to take a family camping trip each summer. I also take a long weekend vacation each year to have mother daughter time. And, I take a trip out to California once a year to visit my cousin, who is like a sister to me, and her family!

My Home

My home is a cozy bungalow style house. It is in the same neighborhood as where I grew up. I have rustic farmhouse decor in some rooms and beachy decor in others. I take great pride in my home. I painted it and updated it with the help of my family. On the main level I have a beautiful dining room and living room with a fireplace, kitchen, bathroom and my bedroom and future child's room. My favorite room is my bedroom. It is a large, bright, airy, calm, peaceful space that I have decorated to remind me of the beach. It has plenty of room for a crib too which I can't wait for! I have a big finished basement that will be a family and play room. I also have a beautiful yard with a patio that I am so excited to fill with toys and activities.

I live in a safe, quiet suburban neighborhood on Long Island. It has great schools, shopping centers, restaurants, a hospital, parks, pool and family center. Anything I need is right here. The beach is a short drive away. About an hour away I can find farms, apple and pumpkin picking, aquariums, zoos and amusement parks. Best of all, my parents live just around the corner and I know they are so excited to help me welcome a baby into my life!

When I bought my house, I could immediately see myself starting a family in it. It is full of love and is warm and welcoming. I always have it decorated for the seasons and holidays and cannot wait to share all this with a child one day.

My Loved Ones

My parents, two of my three brothers, sister in law and 4 year old nephew and 9 month old niece live in the same town. We are all very close and see each other often. My youngest brother lives about an hour away. They are all so supportive and excited to take this journey with me and to add to the family. My parents are already so excited to spend time with their grandchild.

I know they are all going to be so helpful and will be such a big part of your child's life. This warms my heart to think of just how much love will surround me and your baby as we start a family of our own. Most of my extended family live on Long Island as well. I look toward to my child having a relationship with all of them!

My Nephew, Michael

Michael is my one and only nephew. He is four and a half years old. I am also his godmother. He calls me Kay Kay. He is so special to me and we have an amazing relationship, he is truly my best little friend. I look forward to spending time with him and enjoy watching him grow up. I would rather be sitting on the floor playing or cuddling on the couch with him than doing anything else. We take a lot of pictures together, usually at his request!

When he draws a picture of his mom, dad and sister he includes me. Everyone says we are twins. He is funny, kind, sweet and loving. He looks forward to having a cousin to play with even though he thinks he will be the big brother. I know he as well as his little 9 month old sister, Scarlet, will be the best big cousins.

Teddy

I have a tabby cat named Teddy. He is always by my side. He is sweet and playful and a little mischievous. He will be best friends with anyone who gives him treats.

Special Moments
Holidays

I was raised Catholic. I do not go to church as much as I should, but I still pray. I plan to take my child to church on a regular basis and receive their sacraments. I spend every holiday with my family. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter were and still are important holidays for me. My favorite holiday is Christmas. Putting up a Christmas tree in my house is very special to me as I always helped decorate our tree as a child.

Now I look forward to picking out a tree, decorating it and putting presents under it and sharing Christmas morning with your child. I grew up baking Christmas cookies with my mom and still do. We have dinner and watch Christmas movies on Christmas Day and have egg hunts in the yard on Easter. Now that I have my own home, holidays seem even more important because I can start traditions of my own. I take turns hosting different holidays and I really enjoy when it is my holiday to host. One of my favorite things to do is decorate my house for each holiday, especially my fireplace mantle. I look forward to sharing these traditions when I have a family of my own one day. I look forward to starting new traditions and continuing with the old ones.

Conclusion

Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know a bit about me, my life and my family. It is an honor that you considered me as a potential mom for your child. You will give me the greatest gift I could ever receive. I have nothing but respect for you and your difficult choice. You are brave and selfless.

Please know that your child will be happy and safe and surrounded with love. They will be surrounded by love every minute. I will be not be alone in this journey. We will have so much support from my family. My arms, heart and home are wide open and ready for this blessing.

With love,
Kelly
