Jennifer and Chris
Hi! We are Jen and Chris and it is so nice to meet you!

We want to thank you for taking the time to look at our profile book! We know that you are in the process of making a very difficult decision and we want you to know how much we admire your courage. We hope that through these pages, you will feel the amount of love and warmth we and our family have to give and how much we would like to share our love with your child.

We have been in the process of trying to start a family for a few years now and are honored that you would consider choosing us to provide a loving and supporting home for your child. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

With love,
Jennifer and Chris

Our Adoption Story

Chris and I both always wanted to have a family of our own. After we got married, we tried to conceive naturally but month after month, we were met with disappointing results. After some doctor visits, we were told that it would not happen without medical intervention. It was then that we decided adoption would be the way that we would start our family.

To be honest, it was not a difficult decision for us to make. Two of Jen's sisters are adopted and it never seemed any different for her growing up. Often people even told them that they looked alike and they would laugh but other than that, it didn't really come up very much. They were just her sisters, same as anybody else. We also have a nephew who was adopted and on Chris' side, several cousins also joined our family through adoption. They are all just as much a part of the family as the rest of us. We both can't imagine our lives without them and had discussed the possibility of adopting a child ourselves many times in the past. We just knew it was the right choice for us.

Our Promise to You

We have a wonderful extended family who are all very excited about welcoming a new addition as well as many friends who can't wait to become honorary Aunts and Uncles. We know that your child will be loved by so many people!

As parents we want to instill the same values and give the same unconditional love that that our parents gave us. We will teach them to respect all people, to always be kind and to always try their best at everything they do.

Most importantly, we want them to always know that they are loved and supported while having every opportunity possible to become whoever they want to be.

About Us

We met seven years ago on a date in the East Village in New York City. It sounds silly when people say that they "just knew" when they first met someone but in our case it really is true. We made each other laugh so easily when we first started talking and found that we had an unusual number of things in common.

We liked so much of the same music, found lots of similarities in our jobs and we even knew many of the same people by coincidence. Jen was already familiar with the band that Chris plays in and had seen them play before (she had even bought their CD which really surprised Chris!). It felt like we had known each other for years already and felt instantly comfortable with each other. We continued dating for three years after and then made it official when we tied the knot over four years ago.

While we were dating, we spent a lot of time going to museums and parks, going to see live music, going to dinner or to see movies with friends.

Since we got married, that hasn't changed very much except that we tend to have a lot more fun nights in. We love cooking and watching movies or TV shows (homemade pizza is our favorite lately and we are now watching The Office for the second time through!) or having Facetime video chats with family in Massachusetts or with our friends all over the country. We also love to go away for weekend trips, either to visit family in Massachusetts, go to the Storm King Art Center or the Woodstock Animal Sanctuary upstate. Once a year we attend the Coney Island Mermaid Parade with friends who come to Brooklyn from all over the country. We can't wait to make costumes for a little one someday!

Meet Jennifer
Through Chris' Eyes

I knew early on in our relationship that Jen would not only be the perfect partner for me, but an amazing mother as well. Jen has a wonderful sense of humor, true compassion for others, and deep love for her friends and family.

She cares deeply for her family and although she is in a different state, she stays in regular contact with them via group chat or through FaceTime. Jen is always there for her friends. Whether they need advice, emotional support, or just to laugh, Jen is always there to lend an ear and open her heart to them.

Her talents never cease to amaze me: she is an extremely talented artist whose work I find inspiring, an awesome cook (lately she's been trying to perfect her pizza making skills and I love anything she cooks with butternut squash!), has a beautiful singing voice, and is an excellent dancer (you need to pry her away from the dance floor at weddings).

When I first met Jen, she was performing with a synchronized swim team and would travel for performances. I thought that was the coolest thing and although she is taking a break from synchro these days, I still think she's pretty cool.

Jen works as a graphic artist in the home goods industry where she gets to blend her talents in watercolor painting and illustration with digital design. In fact, she used to do similar work for a children's clothing company. While both of our jobs have been so supportive of our desire to build our family through adoption, Jen has the ability to work for herself once we welcome home a baby into our lives. This will give her so much more flexibility with her schedule, something we both think is so important when raising a baby. I know with all my heart that Jen will be the most amazing mom.

Meet Chris
Through Jennifer's Eyes

Chris is going to be an excellent father. He is kind, smart, honest and possibly the funniest person I know. He is always there to help me see the positive in every situation and helps me laugh through life's stresses. He is a person who cares deeply and thinks a great deal about everything he does from his relationship to his family and friends to his music and photography.

Chris works as an Interaction Designer for Google. His job offers paternity leave as well as many types of benefits for new parents, which we are very grateful for. I am always impressed with his incredible knowledge when it comes to technology and that he is constantly wanting to learn more by doing things like teaching himself coding or learning 3-D animation.

Along with being focused on his career, he is also passionate about his creative side. For 16 years, he has been playing guitar and writing music for his band. They are lots of fun to watch and it is always a good time to see them play live!

He is a very talented photographer as well. He loves taking portraits and photographing the musicians that he has become friends with over the years.

Chris is very hard-working and is always working to improve on everything he does. He never stops learning new skills or pushing himself to do more. I am so excited to see him as a Dad!

Our Home

We live in Mount Vernon, a suburb of New York City. We moved here recently from Brooklyn, to be closer to Chris's parents who live very close by. The neighborhood is family friendly and we are close to many of the Hudson Valley's beautiful parks and historical sites and just a short train ride to the city.

Our home is filled with books, musical instruments and probably every type of art medium imaginable. There will be no shortage of creative opportunities for your child in our home!

Holidays and Traditions

Our favorite holidays are Christmas and Halloween. Jen loves to decorate our home during Christmastime and we usually have our decorations up for over a month. Our neighborhood goes all out for Halloween and shuts down some streets to set up activities for the kids so that they can have fun and stay safe!

Christmas is always a wonderful time to see both sides of our family, with Christmas Eve spent with Chris' family in NY and then we spend Christmas Day in Massachusetts with Jen's family, opening presents all day and playing games

Our Loved Ones

Jen is the youngest of 4 sisters and is the aunt to 8 nieces and nephews (ages 2 to 27) who live in the suburban Boston area of Massachusetts. We usually visit family at least four times a year, for holidays and other family get-togethers. We always have a great time when we visit, especially at Christmas! I know our 2-year-old niece will be so excited to have a new little one to play with too!

Chris is an only child, but from a big family with lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins. His parents, who live right nearby, are eager to for us to start our family and we know they plan to be an active part of their grandchild's life. Chris has many adopted family members and is the Godfather of two of his cousins.

Our good friends Liz and Chris who also live near us, have a newborn son named Isaac and they can’t wait for us to adopt Isaac's future best pal!

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at our profile book! We hope that you were able to learn about us and how excited we are to bring a child into our home. We have a life full of love, laughter, and creativity that we cannot wait to share with a child.

We know that this is a very difficult decision for you to make and we thank you for your sacrifice. We are here to answer any questions you have for us and we promise to always be honest with you.

With Love,
Jennifer and Chris
