We help you complete a minimum of
12 hours of adoptive parent training.
PREPARE TO ADOPT
We want all of our families to be fully prepared for the joys and the challenges that adopting a child will bring into their lives. We work with each family to come up with a parent education and training program that meets their situation and needs. All first-time adoptive parents complete a minimum of 12 hours of Adoptive Parent Education and Training, although some states and programs will require more. This is done through a combination of in-person and online training.
We also can provide referrals to organizations that provide specialized training and education for adoptive families. This gives our families the opportunity to think about a wide range of issues and get their questions answered. It also gives them the chance to ready themselves for what lies ahead.
Considering adoption but not sure where to start? We’ve got you covered. Adoption 101 are meetings available at the main office once a month. You can also contact us to set up a one-on-one information meeting. We will go through the process step-by-step from the beginning to the end. We also cover emotional considerations, family changes, costs, process, and so much more. We will provide you with knowledge and resources so you will go home feeling confident and ready to start your adoption process.
There is a reason that the saying “it takes a village” is so popular. We want to be your village and provide you with ongoing parenting education and support. We provide our clients with parenting education and resources to equip them with knowledge and a parenting plan. We strive to provide you with the tools and education to assist you along your parenting journey. Ask us for information on adoption parenting education, classes, and resources.
We will be forever grateful to the Alliance For Children for bringing us our baby. Thank you to Ruthie and team for delivering our baby from Colombia.Tricia & David
